Fog rolls in, Hazy, white, opaque. Doubt, uncertainty, Ready to break. Cold, misty morning, Unnerving. Unsure, unclear, Undeserving. Lost, alone, Aimlessly wandering. Ready to give up, Destructive pondering. A friend appearing, A lighthouse shining. A hope, a path, Destination redefined. Faith in direction, No longer drifting. The end in sight, Fog is lifting. Arise
“Arise, O sun, from out the east, Give light to my creation. Arise, O man, from out the dust, Make sons and tribes and nations.” Arise did sin from Satan’s lies, And man’s own greed within. “Arise, O sea; kill all, but save, The ark and those therein.” Arise, again, did sin and sought, ToContinue reading “Arise”

Sounds
My novel “Tell Me No Secret” was released last week and it contains rather dark subject matter. In keeping with that theme, this poem may not be appealing to all readers.
Better to Have Loved?
I don’t normally post on a Sunday, but since it’s Valentine’s Day, I thought I should put out a “love poem” of sorts. Anyway… Happy Valentine’s Day.
My thoughts move like water…
Sometimes quickly over rocks with ripples and waves, Moving so swiftly I get lost and afraid. At times it slows, spreading deep and wide, Touching places unknown, feeling peace inside. As the river bends and winds I go to and fro, Joined by streams and rains, as I learn and grow. I give of myselfContinue reading “My thoughts move like water…”
Untitled Poem
Always Believing, Constantly Deceiving, Ever, Forever, Grieving; Holding Implications, Just Knowing Lamentations, Making Numerous Odd Provocations; Questionable Reasons, Sovereign Treason, Understanding Valiance, Waning Xistence, Yet Zealous. I would love some comments on this one. I’d especially like to know if anyone notices the … shall we say “theme”?
Learning to Write Poetry
After sharing a recent poem, I was asked “Where did you get your inspiration for that?” My immediate answer was, “I don’t know; it just . . . came to me.” In a way, I felt this was true, but every action first begins with a thought, so I decided to break it down. ItContinue reading “Learning to Write Poetry”
A Poem for Christmas
Angelic messenger addressing the blessed Mary, aware of the heir she carries in her Womb. There’s no room for whom is proven to be our King. He’ll end dominion of sin and then we’ll sing Of his glory. We’ll orate the story Each year, cheering “It’s here!” but we’re Drifting. Sifting through gifts, not upliftingContinue reading “A Poem for Christmas”
Staying Close at Christmas
As Winter chills, everything stills, And we’re all staying inside. The birds have flown to places unknown, The leaves have fallen and dried. We’re tucked away, and we may stay, From people far apart, But love is lawed by the power of God, When Jesus is in our hearts. No distance or span or powerContinue reading “Staying Close at Christmas”
