Is it only in my head? My dreams are always better than life, Sometimes I wish I were dead, My reality is filled with strife. My dreams are always better than life, I know I’m thinking selfishly, My reality is filled with strife, And nobody really loves me. I know I’m thinking selfishly, That’s just the way it is, And nobody really loves me, Is nothing truer than this? That’s just the way it is, I’m trapped and screaming, yet no one knows, Is nothing truer than this? I’m flying above, see my body below. I’m trapped and screaming, yet no one knows, Sometimes I wish I were dead, I’m flying above, see my body below Or is it only in my head? Copyright © 2022 Brandon Ellrich

We all do, Brandon…what we feel, what we experience slips into our writing. I can only hope and pray this does not happen too often.
You are welcome.

No, but being suicide awareness month, my birthday month, my (deceased) boyfriend’s birthday….a lot of those kinds of feelings. I appreciate your concern, though.

It must be very tough. But do try to have a good birthday and take care.

Brandon, first, I have to say that this is relatable to me – you are not alone in these feelings!
second – I have to say this is a seamless pantoum – it didn’t feel forced in the slightest bit – just perfection!

P.S. I got your poem for poetry partners, and I will respond to it this week!

This was very deep. The words used, the scene that was painted and the opening up to share something like this… Really appreciate it and can relate to a certain level.

Yeah, sometimes it’s good because someone’s pain being expressed can help another get through.
