Sorry, I think the whole Jesus thing is sweet but also very scarey because it abstracts us from being fully present to be responsible for our experiences. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if just believing in a diety could give it more power to do what it already should have accomplished. Sorry but I think the Jesus concept, or any god for that matter, is bullshit and removes us from our responsibility of creating the world we want to live in.
I don’t think it abstracts us from any responsibilities. I guess it depends on how you believe. I’m still responsible for what I do. We’ll all see whatever the truth may be in the end.
A great reminder to focus on what matters most this time of year. It’s easier for me to get caught up in the “vendors of December” when I’m shopping for my kids. This year we told them Santa gives gifts to represent the gifts the wise men gave to Jesus. I always hope that they know the reason behind why we celebrate.

My mom always reads the Christmas story before the grandkids are allowed to open any presents. Start with what’s important.

I enjoyed this piece, Brandon. I hope you were able to enjoy the holidays as much as 2020 would allow.

Yes, thank you. COVID went through my family already, so we had no fear of getting together. I hope you had a good one too.
